Join PBS North Carolina, Burgwin-Wright House and Gardens, and Thalian Hall for a special advanced look at the groundbreaking, decade-in-the-making documentary, "The American Revolution," from directors Ken Burns, Sarah Botstein and David Schmidt. On the eve of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, get a peek at segments from across the 12-hour series, premiering Nov. 16 on 8pm on PBS NC and streaming free on PBS.org or the PBS app. The series will delve into the military, social, cultural and political stories that defined the fight for independence, and features more than 200 actors including Tom Hanks, Meryl Streep and Peter Coyote giving a voice to the men and women who forged a nation. Following the screening, stick around for a panel featuring historians and experts from the Cape Fear's Revolutionary-era historic sites and organizations to learn about what's happening locally to celebrate this momentous anniversary in American history!
