White Rabbit Red Rabbit by Nassim Soleimanpour
Big Dawg Productions invites audiences to experience this daring, unpredictable, and thought-provoking theatrical event. White Rabbit Red Rabbit defies traditional theater conventions. Each night, a different performer takes the stage without having read the script beforehand. No rehearsals, no director, no safety net. With only a sealed envelope and the audience as collaborators, the actor discovers the play in real time, creating a singular, one-night-only experience.
Iranian Playwright Nassim Soleimanpour, unable to leave his home country when he wrote the piece, crafted White Rabbit Red Rabbit as a bold experiment in communication and freedom. The result is a captivating fusion of comedy, tragedy, and social commentary that challenges performers and audiences alike to question authority, participation, and the very nature of theater.
This is not just a play, It’s an encounter with the unknown, with the artist’s voice, and with the courage of the performer standing before you. No two performances will ever be the same.
Audiences are encouraged to arrive curious and leave transformed — but to say more would spoil the mystery.
“What does it investigate? Ultimately White Rabbit Red Rabbit explores the laws of live theatre – the way in which an audience lets disbelief ebb and flow; our pleasure in watching an event take shape even without rehearsal.”
– The Guardian
“The anticipation of what was to come was intoxicating, and my heartbeat quickened … I have never experienced anything like this in the theatre. It’s a bold, creative, witty, and challenging endeavor for the actors and the audience that steps into Soleimanpour’s world for a few minutes.”
