Private Tours

Guided tours of the Thalian Center are available by appointment only, Monday through Friday, by calling 343-3660. The tour includes the historic Thalian Hall and original lobby, backstage (when deemed appropriate,) the Studio Theatre, Ballroom, Gallery (3rd floor balcony) and City Hall.

Knowledgeable tour guides will explain the history and current uses of the Thalian Center complex and such one-of-a-kind features as the original Main Curtain, painted in 1858 by William Russell Smith, and the Thunder Run, a 19th century sound effect device.

Individual rates are as follows:

$10.00 for adults

$4.00 for children
$8.00 for senior citizens

Group rates are as follows:

$8.00 for 10-20 persons.
$6.00 for 21-30 persons.
$5.00 for 31-60 persons.

Student rates are as follows:

$4.00 for 1-14 students
$3.00 for 15+ students
There is no charge for the tour leader, bus drivers or chaperones of student groups.

Self-guided tours of the historic parquet lobby are available during regular Box Office hours: Monday through Saturday from 2PM to 6PM. A suggested donation of $1.00 is greatly appreciated.
