Internships in THCPA, Inc.

Thalian Hall Center for the Performing Arts, Inc. provides several opportunities for internship positions. Our goal is to provide interns with the education and experience necessary to operate in a busy, not for profit, performing arts center.

Positions include (but are not limited to):

• Development - The development intern will work mainly with the staff and Board of Trustees on assisting with all fundraising efforts. They will work with budgeting and planning, tracking and contacting potential donor and help planning event budgets. They will also be responsible for helping organize the necessary tasks to facilitate these events. Fundraisers include Taste The Town, Showboat Gambler Gala, Dinners on Stage, etc.
• Internet Technology - The IT intern will work mainly with Communications Director Steve Coley on assisting with technology updates and enhancements. They will work with keeping the work place clean and safe for technology equipment, keep software up-to-date and make the staff aware of imminent and necessary upgrades.
• Production - The production intern will work mainly with Cole Marquis on assisting with the daily Hall maintenance and technical and stage craft assistance. Hanging lights, assisting with sound, building maintenance, set assistance, security - it's all possible with an internship in Production at Thalian Hall!

We will gladly accept more than one intern depending on the interest level. We would like to get people into the office to do some volunteer work before they decide whether or not they would like to intern. Interns have worked well during the summer break.

In general, there are no specific skill requirements. Any experience would be appreciated, but we will provide real-world experience and training. We are mostly looking for enthusiasm and a strong desire to help. Depending on people's areas of interest, we can find a place for most people.

Work Requirements are 20-40 hours per week. We prefer a commitment of 10-weeks or longer. Interns are unpaid.
