Services for Rental Clients

Thalian Hall Center for the Performing Arts (THCPA) provides a number of services for clients who rent our facilities for ticketed events.

Box Office Services

Our state-of-the-art Center Box Office offers telephone, in-person and internet-based online ticket sales.

Professional and courteous Center Box Office staff are often the first personal interaction between your production or event and the ticket-buying public. We are very proud of the ability of our staff to represent both your organization and THCPA. They are dedicated to finding the best available tickets for each audience member, and provide a wealth of information regarding your event and your organization.

In many ways the Center Box Office is the "central switchboard" for the arts in Wilmington. Our staff is often called upon to provide information regarding events that are not even taking place in the facility!

Additionally, the Center Box Office provides detailed and accurate accounting of all ticket sales and transactions for each event.

Marketing Services

THCPA provides marketing for rental clients' events in a number of ways:

• Events are listed on our website calendar with full text descriptions and access for the public to online ticket sales and Center Box Office contact information.
• NEW! The website calendar now automatically updates the Calendars for the Greater Wilmington Arts and Cultural Alliance (GWACA) and Creative Wilmington (cwilmington.com) so rental clients who sell tickets through the Center Box Office do not have to list events on these calendars themselves.
• A calendar of events is printed quarterly and distributed throughout the facility, by mail to our entire membership and sponsors, and via a paid distribution service to information racks in a five-county area.
• A subscription-based news feature allows internet users to receive weekly reminders of the events and performances that are to take place in the current seven-day week. These are updated on a weekly basis, and require only a web browser to access.
• Our website features "This Week in Thalian Hall," a weekly calendar page with the current week's events and performances in both an "at-a-glance" format, and with extended descriptions, ticket information and links to online tickets, film trailers, our clients' websites and theatrical reviews.
• "This Week in Thalian Hall" is also sent via email to over 2000 subscribers using a managed email service that assures that the calendar is not marked as spam.
• As available, THCPA offers three premium locations at the main entrance for large exterior banners (4-foot wide by 6-foot tall) to advertise your event or your entire season of events. (Please see our banner information for details and requirements for banner display.)
• It is in the best interests of both THCPA and our clients that we dispense accurate descriptions and ticket information for your event. If you have questions regarding the marketing of your event through Thalian Hall, please contact us through the Center Box Office contact form.

Front of House Services

THCPA provides paid house managers and volunteer ushers for all ticketed events and many non-ticketed events. Easy to locate in their black and white uniforms and logo badges, the ushers are also knowledgeable and courteous as they assist your audience members in purchasing refreshments, locating restrooms, entering the theatre, obtaining programs and locating seats.
